Answers before you connect
- Do I need a server to try Glimshelf?
- No. Choose Try sample comics during onboarding, or add a folder of local files. The sample works offline and does not require an account.
- Which address should I enter for my server?
- Use the base address that opens Komga, Kavita, or your OPDS catalog, including HTTPS and any path prefix. Do not paste a library, series, or book URL.
- Which files can I read locally?
- Local folders support CBZ, CBR, CB7, PDF, and EPUB. Local files do not count against the Free download limit.
- What does the five-book Free limit count?
- It counts server books kept offline, including server books downloaded as part of a Trip Pack. Local files are unlimited and do not count.
- Can Glimshelf read right-to-left manga and webtoons?
- Yes. The comic reader supports left-to-right and right-to-left paging, double-page spreads, and continuous vertical Webtoon mode.
- Does Glimshelf upload my library?
- No. The app connects directly to the server and optional services you choose. Glimshelf has no developer-operated library relay or account.
