0.2.15 (32) · Local books, reading continuity and diagnostics
Repairs for local-file reading and covers, series continuation on Home, and an investigated iOS 27 book-detail freeze. Diagnostic reports are easier to share and more useful for remaining issues. Apple review may still be pending; TestFlight shows when this build is available to you.
Supported local files are identified by their contents as well as their extensions. Rescanning can repair mislabeled entries while preserving reading progress, and missing local covers can be retried.
Home keeps the active series in context after Read Next, so its next unread book remains easy to find.
Book-detail layout is simplified to address an investigated iOS 27 freeze. The reported flow passed an on-device retest; other reported comic freezes remain under investigation.
Missing offline copies get a clear explanation and Download again controls with readable labels.
Privacy-safe diagnostic export opens the system share menu. Reports are capped at 256 KiB and include recent app activity and available crash details; sharing remains an explicit user action.
Glimshelf 0.2.14 (31) fixes a crash that closed the app whenever a one-page book was opened, and stops books marking themselves finished when you reopen them on their last page. It also adds search inside the Library, covers in search results, and a Search screen that is useful before you type. This update is available in TestFlight.
Opening a book that holds exactly one page no longer closes the app. The reader could not draw a page slider for a single page, and asking for it took the whole app down. One-page books now open normally and show no slider. Single-chapter EPUBs had the same fault and are fixed with it.
Books no longer finish themselves. Leaving a book on its last page without finishing it, then reopening it, used to mark it as finished. Reaching the last page is not the same as completing a book, and only turning past the end counts now. A book already marked finished keeps that mark; this stops it happening again rather than rewriting your history.
You can search inside your Library. The field sits under the Library title, with the Series and Books switch beside it so you can choose what kind of result you get. Sort, read state and Available offline do not narrow search results yet, so the offline switch is hidden while you search rather than sitting there doing nothing. The Search tab still searches your whole catalogue across every server.
Search results show cover thumbnails, so a title you know by its artwork is easier to pick out.
The Search screen is no longer empty before you type. It offers your recent searches and quick routes into your Smart Collections and reading lists.
Library's Sort and Filter button uses the standard circled filter symbol rather than three bare lines, and fills in when a filter is active.
Reading time estimates work in two-page mode. A double-page reader could never finish learning your pace and showed “Learning your pace…” indefinitely. Existing history is unaffected.
Metadata beside the Reading Now cover no longer truncates at the largest text sizes, and section headings follow the app's own type rules again.
Glimshelf 0.2.13 (30) comes from beta feedback. It repairs the Home lead cards and cover shelves, replaces the book progress mark with a true proportional ring, adds series progress to the series screen, and clears a Settings Sync state that could wait indefinitely with no way to resolve it. These notes also ask five specific questions we would like testers to answer.
The details beside the Reading Now and Next in Series covers now read as labelled text. They used to draw as tinted circles that looked like buttons but were not, and tapping one just opened the book.
Long book titles no longer crowd the Start cue on the Next in Series card.
Cover shelves plan only as many slots as the screen can show, so a short row no longer trails empty placeholder boxes past the edge. This was most visible on smaller iPads and at larger text sizes.
A book's progress mark is now a true proportional ring instead of a fixed half-filled circle, which used to show a book on page 16 of 174 as though it were half read.
Started, unread and finished books are told apart by shape, not only by colour, and book rows show the same page position VoiceOver reads aloud.
Right-to-left layouts no longer mirror the progress ring.
The series screen shows how far through a series you are, how many books you have finished, and what to read next.
A setting synced from another device that pointed at a library this device does not have could wait indefinitely with no way to identify or clear it. That state now explains what is waiting and offers to discard it.
0.2.12 (29) · Reader enhancements and visual repairs
Glimshelf 0.2.12 (29) is now available to test in TestFlight following Apple approval. It includes the reader controls, speech and series download enhancements introduced in 0.2.9, together with the Home, Library, scrolling and diagnostics repairs that followed.
Tap anywhere in the middle of a page to show or hide the reader controls. Page turns use only the outer band on each side, in every reader mode including right-to-left and vertical webtoon reading.
Reader controls hide on their own after five seconds without interaction, stay while you are using them, and never auto-hide with VoiceOver or Switch Control.
Right-to-left double-page spreads turn in the correct direction.
Bubble Zoom speech no longer goes silent after a quick stop and restart. When a voice cannot start, Glimshelf says so and suggests checking the volume and audio output. Speech stops when you leave the app.
Select several books in a series with the Select button or a two-finger drag, then download them together or remove their downloads from this device. Server books and reading progress are never deleted.
Restores the centered round play button and smooths cached Home loading and background updates.
Repairs the Library metadata layout crash.
Refines the pinned series selection toolbar and resolves the reported long-list scrolling jitter.
Improves local diagnostic exports with available crash details and recent screen entries.

0.2.8 (25) · Offline Library access and reader repairs
Glimshelf 0.2.8 (25) is now available to test in TestFlight following Apple approval. This update brings faster access to books on your device, repairs reading and sync behavior, and includes a Pepper & Carrot story to get you started.
Available offline in Library filters your collection to downloaded books and available local files. Use Books to see individual offline titles, or Series to find series with an offline book.
Add Local Folder is now available directly in Library, so you can bring in your own files without returning to Settings.
Reaching the final page leaves it open to read. Move forward once more to finish the book or continue to the next one, according to your setting.
Reconnecting after offline reading avoids false progress conflicts. When reading progress genuinely competes, Glimshelf still asks you which place to keep.
French text is more reliably matched to a French speech voice when the device language is English.
Home shows one clear Resume action, and large Library Status totals fit more comfortably on smaller iPads.
Rainbow Potions, Episode 2 of Pepper & Carrot by David Revoy, is included with five story pages and the original credits under CC BY 4.0. Existing saved reading progress and notes are preserved.

Pinned reading lists show every available book in your saved order, including unread and partially read books, without the previous twelve-book limit.
When Up Next shows a reading list, its duplicate pinned row is temporarily hidden. Your saved pin and its position return when Up Next switches to another list or back to Series.

Adds Settings → Support → Report a Problem. Glimshelf prepares an email to support@glimshelf.com with an incident ID and diagnostic attachment. Share Diagnostics and Copy Support Email remain available when Mail is not configured. Nothing is sent automatically.

The invitation supports iPhone and iPad on iOS or iPadOS 18 and later. The beta includes Pro without purchases; testers can begin with the included comic, local files, or their own Komga, Kavita, or OPDS source.
